On Thursday, Kylie Jenner became Instagram’s most-followed female celebrity with 300 million followers. This makes her the third most viewed profile on Instagram. It is second only to Instagram’s own account (460 million followers) and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo (388 million followers). She shares a spot with Lionel Messi, who has 300 million followers.

Cosmetic mogul, along with her renowned Kardashian sister, has built a large online presence and engagement on social media platforms. Kim Kardashian currently has 278 million followers on Instagram, followed by Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner (both 212 million). The Kardashian-Jenner family has built a lucrative business behind their online followers. 24-year-old Jenner was named the youngest billionaire in 2020 by Forbes magazine.

Prior to Kylie, Ariana Grande won the top spot as the most followed female in the app. As of February 2019, the singer had 146.5 million followers, overtaking Selena Gomez, who had the most followed spot ahead of Ariana. Ariana currently has the same 289 million followers as Serena.
