Matcha vs Green Tea, which one has more caffeine?

We’ve often heard that Matcha, among other species of green tea, is more effective and beneficial than what our regular green tea can provide us with.

Both Matcha and the regular Green Tea are made from a Chinese native plant named Camellia sinensis. While Green tea is prepared by exposing soaked leaves to sunlight for days, the Matcha leaves are shielded from sunlight which results in an increase in chlorophyll, thus making the leaves a darker shade of Green. Hence, Matcha is a purer form than the regular Green tea and is more effective.

Matcha green tea leaves are destemmed and deveined and afterward steamed soon after reap to end oxidation. This gives matcha its splendid emerald tone. At long last, the leaves are stone-ground into a fine, dazzling green powder.

Since Matcha is made up of whole leaves rather than granular particles, it contains increased amount of caffeine and antioxidants than what a normal Green tea would.

One cup (237 ml) of Matcha, made up of 4 teaspoons of powder, contains about 280 mg of caffeine. On the other hand, a standard Green tea cup (237 ml), generally packs up about 35 mg of caffeine. It is found that Matcha provides eight times more caffeine than a regular Green tea.

Matcha is fruitful because –
(a)It reduces the risk of damaging kidney and liver
(b) Lowers blood sugar level
(c) Reduces cholesterol levels
(d) Makes blood cells healthy and repairable.
(e) Reduces risk of heart disease
(f) Aids weight loss
(g) Relaxes body and mind and increases alertness simultaneously

Green tea is processed in a way which removes any bitter taste and so it tastes fresh and grassy and requires no companion. However, Matcha being bitter in taste, requires milk and sweetner, which gives it a richer blend and a buttery taste.

Almost all health experts recommend Matcha over coffee or regular Green tea and black tea because it has overpowering health benefits. It definitely has a sophisticated feel to it considering it was only available to the richer class of society back when it was discovered in China and Japan.
