A video circulating online showed a street food vendor in Delhi interacting with police officers. Authorities have since clarified that Chandrika Dixit, known as the “Vada Pav Girl,” was not arrested.
Dixit runs a popular vada pav stall in Mongolpuri, Delhi. She recently shared a video on social media depicting a disagreement with local residents during a community feast near her stall. The gathering reportedly caused traffic congestion in the area.
According to officials, Dixit’s stall lacked proper permits and attracted a large crowd, including social media influencers. Following complaints about traffic issues, police arrived at the scene. Reports indicate Dixit may have argued with the officers. Her stall was temporarily seized, but Dixit was not arrested and no charges were filed.
Dixit has gained social media fame for her delicious street food and previously went viral after a tearful exchange with a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) representative regarding her stall’s permit.
