7-Day Sattvic Meal Plan to Accompany a Neem Detox

A 30-day neem detox isn’t about intensity; it’s about rhythm. In Ayurveda, the 15-day “on/off” cycle is essential because bitter herbs like neem are deeply drying (Ruksha). If you don’t take the break, you risk aggravating Vata (nervous system and dryness) or depleting your digestive fire (Agni).

This schedule assumes you are drinking the infusion first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

1: Activation1 – 71/4 tspElimination: Cut all refined sugar and alcohol.
2: Deep Cleanse8 – 151/2 tspAlkalizing: Focus on Mung Dal and green vegetables.
3: Integration16 – 30NoneRebuilding: Focus on digestion and “warmth.”

Phase 1: Activation (Days 1–7)

The first week is about waking up your liver.

  • The Routine: Start with a light brew (1/4 tsp).
  • What to Expect: You might feel a “detox flu” or see minor skin breakouts. This is a sign that toxins are moving into the blood.
  • Dietary Focus: Remove “clogging” foods. Stop eating red meat, fried foods, and heavy dairy. Switch to warm, cooked meals.

Phase 2: Deep Cleanse (Days 8–15)

Now that the channels are open, we increase the potency.

  • The Routine: Increase to 1/2 tsp.
  • What to Expect: Increased clarity and lighter digestion.
  • Dietary Focus: This is the “Sattvic” window. Eat primarily Moong Dal Kichari and cooling gourds (Lauki, Zucchini). Use small amounts of Ghee to protect your tissues from neem’s drying effect.

Phase 3: Integration (Days 16–30)

Crucial: Stop the neem entirely. * The Routine: Zero neem.

  • The Logic: Your body needs this window to integrate the purification. Without the bitter stimulus, your liver begins to function at its new “cleaner” baseline.
  • Dietary Focus: Focus on warming spices. Reintroduce ginger, cumin, and black pepper. This prevents the “coldness” of the neem from dampening your metabolism long-term.

The Golden Rule: If at any point during Phase 1 or 2 you feel extremely dizzy or cold, skip a day. Ayurveda values balance over speed.
