OYO, a platform for hospitality technology, announced the creation of a long-term strategic partnership with Adventure Women India.

Adventure Women India represents tour operators and hotels in the travel sector and allows its members to choose their travel providers from a pool of reliable and secure suppliers. According to OYO, group members will receive a number of benefits for taking part in the engagement, including the simplicity of selecting from a network of safe, comfortable, and affordable hotels.

“Women traveling solo has been a trend across the world for years and we want to support this by doing our bit as more and more women in India choose to travel solo. We are excited to partner with Adventure Women India and support them in their inspiring mission,” OYO Chief Growth Officer Kavikrut said.

The OYO Travelopedia Report 2022 reveals that the majority of consumers plan to travel alone this year as part of their bucket list for 2022.

Solo Travel Quote

In the past ten years, women travelling solo has become more popular. A Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation study found that between 2014 and 2015, more than half of all overnight domestic trips made by a single person in India were made by women.

Compared to 2018, the number of reservations made by women rose by 63% in 2019.

“Our community offers a secure ecosystem of peers, influencers, and experts for its members to participate freely, allowing them to interact without fear of being judged,” stated Adventure Women India co-founder Minal Mathur. We are thrilled about this new beginning with OYO since it will help us greatly in serving the various needs of our members.

OYO’s booking data suggests a similar pattern existed before the pandemic-related restrictions hurt the lodging sector.
