1. Learn to priorities

Not every work demands your attention. Handle every task at your own pace. We, as women, have a habit of overdoing, over-stressing ourselves with every small job. We want to give our best, and somewhere we forget to take care of our selves. Thus, you must prioritise. What are the things that need your immediate attention? Do you have to get everything done at this moment? Are you over-stressing yourself? Ask these questions, take a deep breathe and remind yourself there’s no rush.

2. self-care is a key

Every day make a point to spend some time in nourishing your mind, body and soul. We have been emphasising this point lately, as your mental peace determines your personal and professional success. So inculcate the habit of self-care. A routine of self-nourishment. It can be a long soothing hot bath, a walk in the park or a cup of coffee with your favourite book. Whatever brings you happiness, peace and contentment must be a part of your daily activity. Move your body, go for a jog in the morning or a walk around your street. Stretch, do yoga or hit the gym. Whenever you feel fatigued or stressed, move your body, start walking, start stretching. Divert your attention by indulging in physical activity. The trick is to fool your mind, take the attention away from anxiety or stress and focus it on your body.

3. Nature therapy!

Surround yourself with greenery and see your mood change instantly. Getting in touch with land, air, water, fire or space (the five elements) is therapeutic for our being. Walk barefoot on grass for 10 minutes daily, or sit near a river, inhale-exhale in the fresh air, or merely observe the nature around you. Start anything for 5 to 10 minutes daily.

4. Say no to emotional binging

The moment you feel the urge to eat because you are stressed, stop yourself right there. Substitute with some healthy snacking or follow point 3 and/or 4: move your body, reconnect with nature.

5. Time management on social media, please

There are people around you, talk to them. Unplug and unwind from the world of social media. Half your stress will go away if you detach from the constant outpour of information.
