Bring the heat to your dinner table with a savory and satisfying bowl of beef chili! Made with juicy ground beef, hearty beans, and a blend of warm spices, this classic comfort food is sure to hit the spot on chilly nights.

Ingredients for Bowl of Beef Chili:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can of kidney beans (14.5 oz), drained and rinsed
  • 1 can of black beans (14.5 oz), drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Sour cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up any large clumps.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the pot and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
  7. Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped cilantro, and a dollop of sour cream, if desired. Enjoy!
