Cook Up a Delicious Bowl of Beef Chili for a Cozy Night In!
Bring the heat to your dinner table with a savory and satisfying bowl of beef chili! Made with juicy ground beef, hearty beans, and a blend of warm spices, this classic comfort food is sure to hit the spot on chilly nights.
Ingredients for Bowl of Beef Chili:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
- 1 can of kidney beans (14.5 oz), drained and rinsed
- 1 can of black beans (14.5 oz), drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up any large clumps.
- Add the onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the pot and cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, paprika, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and let the chili simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Serve the chili hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped cilantro, and a dollop of sour cream, if desired. Enjoy!
