Fashion Trend Forecast: What to Expect in 2022

The next 12 months are going to be an exciting time for fashion. It’s hard to predict what’s going to happen in the future, but it is always interesting to take a look at different predictions and see if they make sense for you personally.

What are the fashion trends for 2022?

In 2022, the fashion world is going to see a trend of people trying to out-dress each other. The key here will be in the details as people will want their own look, not ones that they’ve seen before. This means there will be a lot more customization from those with money and time to spare on it.

For most of us, this year will be all about oversized clothes, natural fabrics, and messy hair. Look for ripped jeans, bell-bottom pants, and oversized sweaters. The denim trend is still going strong with new variations like acid wash denim, distressed denim, and destroyed denim.

The general consensus is that fashion will be more masculine in style with sharper lines.

The bright colours, prints, and textures will continue to be popular. Women will continue to wear skirts, dresses, and skirts with pants. Skirts over pants are also predicted to be a fashion trend for 2022.

My belief is that if we go back to the colour scheme from 2017-2020, we will see a lot of browns, blues, greys and black. I also believe casual clothing will be more prominent in 2022.

New Year Trends

In order to help get a sense of what will be up and coming, let’s take a look back at some of the major trends from the past few years. The 2020s have been notable for two major themes: Pops of colour and futuristic styles.

According to fashion experts, it’s likely that we’ll see a continuation of the current trends: long and lean silhouettes, metallics and neons, off-shoulder tops and dresses, and shoes with clear soles.

The new year is already shaping up to be an exciting time for fashion. The fashion world’s top designers are collaborating on collections with different themes, including sustainability and experimentation with materials. Designers are also experimenting with digital 3D modelling and printing to create clothes that can’t be found in stores.

What to Expect in 2022

In one line, brace yourself to experience the unexpected.
