Rachid Khadla, 56, from Windsor, Berkshire, stood in the dock with his head bowed as his youngest son Hicham Khadla told horrific stories about his upbringing.
Hicham, 18, told the jury that his father had condemned him as ‘weak’ and said he was hit with a kitchen utensil more than 100 times as a child – starting when he was just seven years old.
Hicham explained that he had been ‘hit his whole life’ but he had only told his best friends and teachers at school when he thought he was going to die after his father strangled him.
On the other hand, Amira Khadla, 23, daughter of Richard Khadla was made to sign the lifetime contract for not getting fat in 2012. It says: “I, Amira Khadla, will never let myself get fat. I will do lots of exercises to make sure I will never get fat, even until I die.”
Richard would control the very basic aspects of his daughter’s life. He would always be the one to decide on what Amira wore, who she could see, talk to or watch on television.
Eldest son Karim – who severed ties with the whole family over the alleged cruelty he received as a child – says Khadla punched him in the head so hard that he fell over aged 15.
Richard Khadla’s wife has supported the claims and said that Richard would become aggressive for no reason.
Rachid Khadla denies three counts of child cruelty and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
