Going without a bra: A personal experiment

I suppose that this could be a little controversial, so I want to start with the disclaimer that I’m not trying to say bras are bad. Bras can be really great. But wearing bras all day, every day doesn’t seem like the best idea for me. So I started the experiment by going without a bra for one week. The first few days were awkward, but it wasn’t too long before it felt like I was free of an extra layer of clothing. And when it was time to take off my clothes at night, I couldn’t believe how soft and natural my breasts felt.

I had been wearing a bra for fifteen years, and I figured it was a good time to see if I would notice any difference. Seven days went by before I realized my breasts were feeling less sore. The extra support from the bra was not needed anymore.

I’ll be honest, when I first began this experiment, I wasn’t sure it would last more than a day. After all, my breasts don’t always behave when wearing no bra. They have a tendency to get in the way or look too saggy. I remember the first day I woke up, I felt like something was missing.

I do not know what it is, but there is a sense of anticipation when you know you are going to be putting on a bra. It does not have to be that way. Right?

I’m really glad I did this experiment because now I know that it’s okay for my breasts to be both small and saggy. It has also helped me embrace my natural body shape.

The idea of going braless first came to me when I was looking through a lingerie shop online and realized how bras are so expensive! I thought what if I never needed to buy another bra? It’s not so much about saving money but doing something new. So I started this experiment. Among the many benefits of going braless, I discovered how my posture has improved because I’m not slouching around my chest all day.

In the end, I have to say, I was shocked by the results. I didn’t really feel a huge difference in how my clothes fit, but I felt a lot better about myself and it made me feel more confident. I thought to myself how great it would be if everyone could wear whatever they wanted without thinking about what other people might think!
