Shocking! Racial Attack On Four Indian-American Women By A Texas Woman

On Wednesday, a video of a woman in Plano, Texas, hurling racist slurs at a group of Indian-American women went viral on social media.

Esmeralda Upton is caught on camera shouting racist slurs at the group and even hitting one member of the group in the face outside the Texas restaurant Sixty Vines.

Soon after the four Indian-American women reported the incident to the police, Plano Police Department officers detained Esmeralda Upton.

Esmeralda Upton was seen hitting one of the women in the face and swiping at the phones of two women who were recording the assault in the five and a half minute video that Rani Banerjee, one of the victims, posted on her Facebook page.

She also threatened to shoot the four women as she reached into her bag.

Accusations of Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Terroristic Threats were brought against Esmeralda as separate offences. On a $10,000 bond, Upton was kept in custody. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. The Plano Police Department’s press release stated that Esmeralda might be charged with additional offences. The incident is being looked into further.

One of the assault victims, Rani Banerjee, shared the video on Facebook late on Wednesday, and it quickly became popular on the social media site. It was also posted on Reddit, where it gained a lot of attention.

Esmeralda and the four women started to argue before the video even starts. Upton shouts at the women in the opening seconds of the video to “go back to India” as she stands outside the parking lot.

Indians are everywhere, Upton said in her racist tirade, and she questioned why they were here. The phrase “you **ing Indians are everywhere” is used to describe them. Why the fk are y’all here, Upton asks, if life in India was so great.

When one of the Indian-American women said she was being attacked by a “white woman,” Upton responded that she is a Mexican American. “If you’re Mexican, why don’t you go back to Mexico,” the woman retorted.

Upton responds, “she pays her taxes,” and threatens to pull out a gun and shoot at the four women. “Turn off the goddamn phone or I swear to God, I’m going to shoot your a**.” An officer arrived and was seen speaking with Rani and her friends.

Rani, speaking to local news outlets, expressed surprise at the woman’s combative attitude.

Several people condemned the incident on social media. The incident was also condemned by the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA).
