Now, let us embark on a poetic journey through the heartfelt verses penned by Susmita Dey:

1. Life

My energy is depleting
Day by day
A tussle between
Truth and fantasy
The life that I want
And the life that I have
It’s nothing but a museum
Of wants and desires.

2. GoodBye

A silhouette smiling, waving,
The phone woke me from my dream
I could feel the cold and eerie silence

Someone in a white coat pumped hard
Clear, set, 123, repeat
I was not allowed to hold hands and comfort
Unknown faces around me
I can’t read the situation

I tried to peek through the sea of people
Someone was desperately nodding his head
Muttering “Come on! breath “
Our eyes met
He just nods and says ” Be strong”

I was screaming, crying, desperate in my head
I didn’t say goodbye
Stoic silence
Life.

3. FAITH

Eyes bloodshot
Searching for answers
Your soft pink lips
Couldn’t mask
The deep dark malice

Was it purple or maroon
My angst!

In desperation
I look up at the sky
Couldn’t find.
Any silver lining
Metaphor for hope
Weaved incessantly
In fiction and poetry

I take a deep breath
Letting go.
my unquestionable
Faith in Thee.

4. Vanilla

I let go of the exotic flavors
For Exotic is always under the scanner
And the spotlight wears me down
I know life is all about twists and turn
But when never-ending, it just burns

All I crave now is a day so slow
Lingering with a sweet aftertaste
Without adventures,
No rush to achieve or reach
No pleading or pleasing
Just content with what I have and what I do

Yes! I vouch now for Vanilla
For it is sweet and content,
Leaving behind a fresh aroma
Which the rush of exotic cannot fulfill
Finally allowing you to accept Me.
