Khosay Sharifi killed three family members she accused of abuse

The horrifying story started with a Facebook post that Khosay Sharifi wrote on August 23, in which she described how her sister had been choked, slapped, kicked, punched in the face, and cursed out by her husband of 14 years.

“My parents and his parents knew all these years but have not really done much but say ‘work it out’ [or] ‘what will people say if you separate’ or even victim blaming.”

Sharifi concluded the post by stating, “that abuse can affect someone not just physically but also mentally,” and she alleged that her father financially controlled as well as verbally mistreated her mother.

She wrote, “This whole attitude of ‘just work it out’ needs to change because it is not healthy. “I won’t engage in this nonsense.”

Sharifi shot her brother-in-law Sanjar Halin, 34, and her father Mohamad Sharifi, 66, at the latter’s home a short time later. The local district attorney’s office issued a statement confirming that both passed away there.

Abdul Halin, 56, was shot and killed by Sharifi outside a house less than a mile away while he was in his car. Abdul Halin was the father of Sharifi’s brother-in-law.

According to the statement made by the prosecution, she then drove about a half-mile, parked outside a grocery store, and shot herself to death.
