This time at Real SHEE Power we’re putting a proper K-beauty viral product through its paces: Medicube Zero Pore Pad 2.0.
These dual-textured, pre-soaked toner pads claim to tackle visible pores, excess oil, uneven texture and mild congestion. With coverage in British Vogue and Glamour, plus a mountain of social-media hype, we wanted to see what actually happens when you use them consistently — not just for a couple of days for content.
We tested them for several weeks on combination-to-oily skin that deals with midday shine, visible pores (especially around the nose and T-zone), and occasional congestion. Here’s the honest, no-filter review.
A tub of 70 pre-soaked pads priced around ₹1,680 (indicative Indian listing). Each pad has two sides: an embossed, slightly textured side for light physical polishing, and a smooth side that deposits the essence. The formula centres on 4.5% lactic acid (AHA) and 0.45% salicylic acid (BHA), supported by panthenol, allantoin, sodium hyaluronate and Medicube’s Anti-Sebum P complex.
The pads come saturated and stay wet right to the bottom of the tub — a small but appreciated detail.
After cleansing, we swiped the embossed side first across the face (avoiding the eye and lip area), then flipped to the smooth side. No rinsing. Followed with a hydrating serum or essence, moisturizer, and SPF every morning. We started three times a week and built up to almost daily use on days the skin felt balanced. On nights with retinoids or stronger actives, we skipped the pads.
Texture & smoothness
This is where the pads delivered most clearly. Within the first 7–10 days, skin felt noticeably smoother. Makeup sat better and the overall surface looked more refined. The dual-texture design genuinely helps — the embossed side gives a light physical polish without feeling harsh when used gently.
Pores & congestion
Pores on the nose and cheeks looked cleaner and less “stretched.” Blackheads and mild congestion improved, especially surface ones. Stubborn, deeper blackheads didn’t vanish completely, but they became less prominent. Important reality check: these pads refine the appearance of pores by clearing debris and oil; they do not permanently shrink pore size.
Oil control
Midday shine was dialled down. Skin stayed more balanced for longer, which made a difference on humid days. Not a complete oil-stopper, but a clear improvement for combination-to-oily skin.
Overall look
Skin looked brighter and more even. That soft “glass-skin-adjacent” glow people talk about is real when the pads are used consistently and followed with good hydration.
The formula contains denatured alcohol and several essential oils (citrus, bergamot, lavender, rosemary, eucalyptus). This gives a fresh, herbal-citrus scent but can be drying or irritating for sensitive, dry, or reactive skin. We experienced mild tightness on a couple of days when we used them too frequently without enough moisturizer. Pairing with a richer cream solved it.
These are not ideal for very sensitive, rosacea-prone, or compromised barriers. Patch testing is essential if your skin is reactive. Also, because they contain acids, daily SPF is non-negotiable.
Skip or approach very carefully if you have dry, sensitive, or fragrance-reactive skin.
Medicube Zero Pore Pad 2.0 lives up to a good portion of the hype for the right skin type. They deliver visible smoothing, better oil control and cleaner-looking pores without the drama of stronger acid treatments. The dual-textured format is practical and the results build nicely with consistent use.
They’re not a miracle “zero pore” product (no topical product truly erases pores), and the alcohol + essential oils keep them from being universally suitable. But for combination-to-oily skin looking for an effective, easy exfoliating step, these pads earned a permanent spot in our routine.
Real SHEE Power rating: 8/10
