What Would Women Do If There Were No Men On Earth

What would women do if there were no more men on earth? The world might be a better place without them. Imagine what it would be like to not be scared of being raped every time you leave your house. In this perfect female-dominated world, we wouldn’t have to deal with any of the following: sexism, wage inequality, catcalling, unwanted attention from men in general.

Here are some of the common responses that we received on what would girls do if there were no men on Earth for 24 hours:

• Go on walks late at night
• Wear whatever I want
• Freely smile/laugh and greet everyone without being judged or name called for basic human behaviour
• Run around at night without feeling like I need to take care of myself
• Leave my drink unattended at a bar
• Party all night without being scared/worried the whole time
• Not look behind me when I walk alone at night
• See the world
• Wear revealing clothes without being told it’s my fault for being touched when I don’t want to be
• Not cry as much

In other words, women would feel safe and happy if there were no more men on earth. They wouldn’t have to worry about being harassed in a public place or having a man try to take advantage of them in a dark alley. They wouldn’t have to worry about who they can speak to and who they can’t. Women would also be happier because they could make their own choices about their lives, careers, and money without having to worry about how it might affect a male who might think he has the right to control her life.

Hi my name is Tabitha. I am a woman with autism. If there were no more men on Earth I would feel safe and happy because that means that my sisters, mother, daughter, girlfriend, aunt, niece or any other woman in my life would be safe too.

How does the responses make you feel?

Ashamed? Sad? Tragic?

I think the most striking response came from a woman in NYC who was angry and isolated. She is angry because out of fear of rape, she can’t walk around the city without a male friend or family member with her. There’s something wrong with that and it shows how important it is for men to realise women are living a life which is packaged around fear and lack of freedom.
