Will Smith Won’t Go To Jail Thanks To Chris Rock

If it hadn’t been for Chris Rock, Will Smith could have faced legal trouble. There was talk that Will could face assault charges after he got up on the Oscars stage and beat the comic over a botched joke. But thanks to Chris Rock, Will Smith won’t go to jail now.

Multiple sources indicate that Los Angeles Police Department officers on the site at the Dolby Theatre met with Chris Rock shortly after the program ended. Will Smith would have risked assault charges if Chris Rock had reported the incident to the LAPD. He could have faced up to six months in prison and a fine of up to $100,000.
