Gal Gadot To Play Cleopatra In Patty Jenkins Upcomming Directorial Venture

Gal Gadot will be playing Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt in Petty Jenkins’s next. The duo has worked earlier in Wonder Woman and the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, to be released this Christmas 2020.

This will be for the first time that the audience will see the story of the Queen through women’s eyes. Paramount Pictures will be the film’s distributor with Laeta Kalogridis as the screenplay writer.

Actress Gal Gadot announced her casting as Cleopatra on Twitter. She wrote: “As you might have heard I teamed up with @PattyJenks and @LKalogridis to bring the story of Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, to the big screen in a way she’s never been seen before. To tell her story for the first time through women’s eyes, both behind and in front of the camera.”

Gal Gadot is an Israeli actress, singer, martial artist, and model. She was born in Rosh Ha’ayin, Israel, to a Jewish family. She began her modelling career in the late 2000s, making her film debut with the famous Fast and Furious franchise in 2009. She was widely acclaimed for her performance and doing her own stunts on the film set. In 2013, she got her big break as Wonder Woman for which she learnt swordsmanship, Kung Fu Kickboxing Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training. The film didn’t receive well in the box office, but Gadot’s performance was hailed unequivocally.

The Wonder Woman is set to enchant the audience with her next.
