Sanna Marin, the Prime Minister of Finland, was widely criticized after a video showing her dancing and drinking at a private party went viral. The 36-year-old, one of the world’s youngest prime ministers, confessed to undergoing a drug test after receiving criticism, with several leaders asking that she take the test. Women in Finland, on the other hand, have begun to stand in solidarity with Marin in the face of what they perceive to be sexist criticism.
With the hashtag #SolidarityWithSanna, Finnish women are posting videos of themselves dancing and mentioning Marin in their postings to show their support for her.
The social media video shows six people, including PM Marin, dancing and copying a song in front of a camera. Later in the video, Marin is on her knees on what appears to be a dance floor, her arms behind her head, dancing to a tune.
“I had a fun evening with pals.” Yes, we partied a lot. “I danced and sang,” she said, according to Finnish television YLE.
PM Marin was accused of doing drugs while partying shortly after the video was leaked. She, on the other hand, denied using narcotics.
“I have not used drugs myself, or anything other than alcohol. I’ve danced, sung and partied and done perfectly legal things. I have also not been in a situation where I would know that others are doing it that way, Marin said, according to the Hufvudstadsbladet newspaper.
Petteri Järvinen, a cybersecurity expert quoted in the daily Iltalehti on Saturday, suggested that Russia may have hacked the phone or social accounts of someone close to the Finnish prime minister.
