Although developing appropriate levels of self-esteem is not simple, doing so can improve your wellbeing drastically.
Check out these 10 strategies to improve your self-esteem. Consider which ones you want to begin incorporating into your daily life. The greatest method to develop healthy self-esteem, however, is to place less emphasis on “others” (what others say about you) and more emphasis on “self.” Be compassionate, kind, and confident.
This one is extremely important, especially for us girls. More often than not, we as women are trapped in the cycle of constant comparison, which can be mentally and physically exhausting. Here’s a thing: comparing yourself to others is a quick way to feel insecure about yourself and not good enough for anything in life because we all have different strengths, weaknesses, and talents! So girls, stop comparing yourself to others because it won’t do anything for your happiness or self-esteem!
Learn what your strengths are and focus on building those up! You can always improve these areas even more through hard work and dedication!
When you’re feeling down or discouraged, try to remind yourself of all the things you love about yourself—the good qualities that make you unique and special.
Find a hobby or activity that you enjoy doing alone or with others (like going hiking), so that when you’re feeling low on energy, it won’t drain your motivation or enthusiasm for life in general.
Ask for help from friends and family members who care about you, whether it’s someone at work or an old high school friend who understands how hard it can be when your confidence takes a hit from certain people in your life (like an ex-boyfriend). Don’t ever be afraid to ask for help when you need it—it’s okay if it takes time for your skills or abilities to develop, but no one ever gets anywhere by themselves! Ask for help.
Spoiler alert! We all make mistakes. There is no one on this earth who has not made a mistake. So, girl, put your guard down and stop being so hard on yourself. You are allowed to make mistakes; we all do. The trick is to learn from them and move forward with confidence!
Let me get this straight: no one, and when I say no one, I mean NO ONE, is allowed to make you feel bad about yourself. You can’t give them the power to control you. You get to choose how you feel about yourself. Others’ opinions, judgments, and words will not define you. Cut the negativity from your life. You are better off without them. Take your power back.
That’s right. When was the last time you said something good about yourself? You appreciated your journey, your trials, and tribulations, and how you overcame them. When was the last time you pampered yourself with a day off? A day dedicated to you, just you You have to love yourself and give yourself the same affection you freely and affectionately give to others.
No points for guessing, exercise is a great way to boost your self-esteem and make you feel good about yourself. Not only does it help you look and feel better, but studies have shown that it can also help with depression, stress levels and anxiety.
Having support from people who love you is one of the best things you can do for your self-esteem. If you just don’t feel like hanging out with anyone, maybe try making some new friends on social media!
Girls, we are rooting for you. You can do this. 💜
