Silicon Valley, April 20, 2026 – In a move that truly pushes technology into the “final frontier,” Nvidia has partnered with Starcloud to launch the world’s first orbital data centers. Powered by the newly unveiled Space-1 Vera Rubin Module, these orbital nodes are designed to handle heavy AI training and inference workloads directly in space.
By processing data at the source—on satellites and orbital platforms—companies can bypass the massive “downlink” delays that currently plague satellite communications. “We are making space a seamless extension of the global cloud,” stated Starcloud CEO Philip Johnston. This milestone marks the end of simple orbital sensing and the beginning of autonomous, self-navigating spacecraft and real-time geospatial intelligence.
