Stuffed Bell Peppers Recipe – A Delicious and Healthy Dish

Stuffed Bell Peppers are a classic dish that is loved by people all around the world. Not only are they delicious, but they are also healthy, making them an ideal meal for families, especially those with young children. Ingredients:

  • 4 bell peppers
  • 1 cup of white rice
  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup of canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. of dried basil
  • 1 tsp. of dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 1/2 tsp. of black pepper
  • 1 cup of grated cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Once the rice is cooked, set it aside.
  3. While the rice is cooking, cut the tops off of the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse the bell peppers under running water and set them aside.
  4. In a large pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Once the beef is browned, add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the canned tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the sauce has thickened, approximately 10-15 minutes.
  6. Stir in the cooked rice into the beef mixture.
  7. Spoon the beef mixture into the bell peppers, making sure to fill each pepper to the top. Place the filled bell peppers into a large baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the grated cheese over the top of each stuffed pepper.
  9. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and place it in the oven. Bake the stuffed bell peppers for approximately 25-30 minutes or until the peppers are tender.
  10. Remove the foil from the dish and let the stuffed bell peppers bake for an additional 5-10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and brown.
  11. Serve the stuffed bell peppers hot, with a side of green salad or crusty bread, if desired.
