Who is Qazi Touqeer?

Qazi Touqeer is an Indian singer, actor and YouTuber born on 19 October 1985 in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. He rose to national fame in 2005 when he won the Sony reality show Fame Gurukul along with Ruprekha Banerjee. The then President of India even called him the hero of Kashmir after his victory.

He sings in Kashmiri, Hindi and Urdu. After winning the show he released the album Yeh Pal. In 2015 he appeared in the popular music video of Afghan Jalebi from the film Phantom. He also tried acting and was part of the survival reality show Sarkaar Ki Duniya in 2009.

For many years he stayed away from the mainstream spotlight and mostly performed in Kashmir. In September 2026 he returned to national television as a contestant on Bigg Boss 20 hosted by Salman Khan. Inside the house he is known for his energetic personality, catchphrase “I’m a Rockstar baby”, and quirky behaviour that has made him one of the most talked about contestants.

He shares a close friendship of more than 20 years with singer Arijit Singh, who was also a contestant on Fame Gurukul. Arijit has publicly supported him on Bigg Boss.
