India Has 6 Locations Where Indians Need Special Permission to Travel
Who would have believed that we would require special authorization to go within our own country? That is how it is for Indians in India, at least. Due to security concerns, a few areas in India require special clearance, even for Indians. This also promotes the wellbeing of the tribal population while protecting tourists and controlling human traffic.
Here are 6 places that even Indians require a permit to visit:
1. Arunachal Pradesh
The north-eastern state, which is rich in culture, borders China, Bhutan, and Myanmar. Kolkata, Shillong, Guwahati, and Delhi are the cities from where travellers must obtain their permits from the resident commissioner of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. The gorgeous state’s protected areas are covered by ILP, which will cost about INR 100 per person and have a nearly 30-day validity.
2. Nagaland
Nagaland is referred to as the “land of festivals” since each tribe fervently celebrates its own festival. Nagaland residents enthusiastically and passionately observe their religious holidays. Since they see it as sacred, participation in these celebrations is required.
The Hornbill Festival is held annually in the first week of December by the Government of Nagaland to support and promote the state’s cultural heritage.
To see the festival and the beauty of Nagaland all domestic visitors must have an Inner Line Permit (ILP). INR 50 for 15 days and INR 500 for 365 days are the ILP fees. By login into the Government of Nagaland’s official website, you can get the ILP.
The deputy commissioners in Delhi, Kolkata, Kohima, Dimapur, Shillong, and Mokokchung can provide ILP as well.
3. Mizoram
The mesmerising state of Mizoram, which is likewise abundant in natural resources and borders Bangladesh and Myanmar, is also the home of various indigenous tribes. ILP can be obtained via the Mizoram government’s liaison officer in Silchar, Kolkata, Shillong, Delhi, and Guwahati. If you’re flying, you can pick up the special pass from the security guard when you arrive at Lengpui Airport in Aizwal.
4. Sikkim
Sikkim, which serves as a gateway to the Himalayas, is home to stunning meadows, delectable cuisine, numerous monasteries, clear lakes, and arresting views. One of India’s tiniest states, located in the country’s northeast, has never-before-seen natural beauty. People frequently travel through Sikkim on the trails that go to some of the highest locations, which call for a special permit.
