Almora resident, Shikha Joshi, is a rising star in the world of music, making her mark with her melodious voice. This talented and intelligent young woman has recently achieved a remarkable feat – singing for renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series, “Heera Mandi”.
Shikha’s journey began in Almora, where she received her early education at Kurmachal Academy. Her dedication to music led her to pursue higher studies at prestigious institutions like Miranda House, Delhi (Faculty of Music and Fine Arts), and Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Rajasthan (M.A. and M.Phil. in Music). Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D., showcasing her unwavering commitment to learning.
Shikha’s talent has not gone unnoticed. She has lent her voice to numerous albums like “Aadat,” “Khamosh,” and “Lal Bhanwara,” captivating audiences with her soulful voice. In 2021, she received the prestigious Sur Noor Kanth Kokila award for her exceptional work. Her contribution to the film “Bhuj: The Pride of India” further propelled her into the spotlight, where she sang the captivating theme song.
Shikha’s recent achievement in “Heera Mandi” is a testament to her hard work and perseverance. The song, “Masoom Dil Hai Mera”, showcases her versatility and growing prowess in the music industry.
Shikha attributes her success to the unwavering support of her parents, JP Joshi (retired Regional Food Officer) and Maya Joshi, her brother Vineet Joshi (Punjab National Bank employee), her teachers at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, and her late grandfather, Mohan Chandra Joshi. Their encouragement and belief in her talent have been instrumental in her remarkable journey.
