On Wednesday, Kangana Ranaut’s office was demolished by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) citing “illegal” construction at the workplace. The act by BMC was unlawful as the government of India had banned any demolitions in COVID, till September 30.

The actress tweeted, “I had my office opening on 15th Jan, shortly after corona hit us, like most of us I haven’t worked ever since, don’t have money to renovate it.” She further added, “I will work from those ruins keep that office ravaged as a symbol of a woman’s will that dared to rise in this world.”

Bombay High Court pulls up BMC while staying the demolition of Kangana Ranaut’s building. The Bombay HC said, BMC’s action, prima facie, does not “appear to be bona fide and smacks of mala fides”.

Kangana Ranaut’s office was broken down within 24 hours of notice. The actress has been vocal with her views on Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, the drug cartel of Bollywood and the Palghar Lynchying of Sadhus in Maharashtra.

As we write this report, the Mumbai police has arrested Republic News reporters and the Maharashtra government is eyeing to close the telecast of the news channel in the state.

With the rising number of COVID patients, an insufficient supply of oxygen cylinders in hospitals and a range of illegal constructions in Maharashtra, it’s startling to see how the self-made actress’s office was targeted when she was not in the city to defend. In the same locality, there are hundreds of houses that have been served the notice of “illegal” construction” but none of them was touched.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s mother while speaking to The Tribune said “The blessings of the entire country are with Kangana. I am proud that my daughter has always stood for the truth.”
